About Pearl Izumi ELITE Barrier Cycling Jacket - Convertible (For Men)

Closeouts. The well-ventilated Pearl Izumi ELITE Barrier cycling jacket holds its own in high wind and light rain, and it converts from a jacket to a vest if your ride heats up. Just stash the sleeves in the generous back pocket. Plenty of reflective detailing, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Light and compact

This is a great product for a range of activities. It is light, compact and well ventilated. As mentioned by other reviewers, this jacket does fit a bit small. I am usually a small but I purchased a medium and the fit was perfect.

Very nice jacket, not too tight
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Fitting issues

Great jacket, but I downgraded it because the fit is very odd and annoying. The Medium (my usual size) wouldn't even fasten around my middle so I could zip it up--and, no, I'm not fat. So I exchanged for a Large. That'll work, but it still fastens oddly and the sleeves are longer than I'd like. My wife is a good seamstress, and she's considering expanding the sides a bit with some added material so it will fasten more comfortably. Don't know how this got past the people at Pearl Izumi when this first came out. Aside from this, it's all it claims.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. It's OK

The quality of the jacket is great, like all Pearl Izumi clothing. However, like this jacket, I am seeing more of their clothing with an odd fit. I usually wear a medium but had to exchange for a large because there was no room in the shoulder area. The large fits the torso well but, the arms are way too long. You can even see that on the model in the product photo.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket but..

Really good looking jacket. Good protection against wind and rain. Only two issues:
    a) Zippers are nice but it is not easy to 'covert' this jacket into a vest. You can definitely not do it while riding
    b) Don't know if it is specific to me, but the jacket makes a crackling noise when there is wind. I was listening to music while riding and thought there was some static in the music. Later I realized that it was the jacket making that noise!

Other than that I love the jacket.
