The medium fir but the zipper on the waist band was an issue. It would stick on a piece of fabric. I returned.

However, these shorts ran very small all over. Returned them for a Large and the waist is fairly loose, but manageable. They are very light weight, comfortable, and have a nice pocket on the bottom of the left leg and a small rear pocket both with zippers. Bought the white/purple to go with any color of top. I do alot of mountain riding and these shorts are great.

The material was really nice and I liked the zippered pockets but these features were not enough to keep the shorts. They ran true to size.
