Wanted to love these but...Reviewed by RanchRunner from Washington on Thursday, February 8, 2018I'm 5'9", 140 lbs and typically wear a size 6-8 in jeans. I carry my extra weight in my tummy/lovehandles. I ordered these in two different sizes. I first ordered the large-- the inner liner fit just right, but the outer shorts were so big that if they weren't buttoned to the inner layer, they would've slipped right off. So back they went and exchanged for a medium. Strike two...talk about muffin top. They were so unflattering and uncomfortable and that was just standing up. I can't imaging sitting on a bike for an hour in these shorts. The quality seems great. I suppose if you have more of an hourglass figure or slender waist, these would work really well. But if you carry any extra weight in your mid-section, these will not be comfortable or flattering.
Go for the Pearl Izumi Canyon MTB shorts insteadReviewed by BoulderTrailRunner from Colorado on Tuesday, May 2, 2017I purchased these and the Pearl Izumi Canyon MTB here on STP, both in size S. I'm sending these back. I disliked the inner chamois because it wasn't the normal bike short length but more like granny underwear in length, as in super short. Maybe if you are very thin they might work, but then the outer shorts were baggy. In contrast, I really liked the Canyon MTB shorts. I'm 114 lbs and 5'2", athletic build and the S fit fine.
Odd fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by Megan from Madison on Friday, March 10, 2017This is my first pair of bike shorts, so maybe this is typical, but the inner liner is super tight and creates some muffin top, while the outer shorts are fairly loose. The shorts overall look pretty nice- you can't see the padding and they're not skin tight like some bike shorts so you could actually wear these into an ice cream shop or something without being embarrassed. They look like any other pair of athletic shorts.
Not very comfortableReviewed by Happy Minnesotan from Minnesota on Thursday, June 30, 2016I have only worn these once so far and did not notice any improved comfort. It wasn't a very long ride, maybe 6-8 miles. The liner being detached makes it move around a bit. Washed in the machine and came out fine, except pretty tangled. I'll probably use them when needed but wouldn't buy again.
My first pair of bike shorts!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Hannah Lee from Helena, MT on Thursday, May 26, 2016These fit great. I am excited to get more use out of them. I am a beginner mountain biker and after two rides knew I needed to invest in some padded bottoms. They are stylish and comfortable.
