Pro level riding shorts at a very good price. Was waiting for these.

Unfortunately, Sierra overcharges on local sales tax and after many requests (all ignored), it leaves a bad imprsssion of the overall transaction.

These are really nice well made shorts but the sizing is odd. I wear PI size medium in all my other shorts. These mediums were skin tight and fit more like a small. I returned them for a large. These are perfect around the waist but the legs are still really tight ( I have a 34 waist). I am hoping they stretch out with the ride. I don't have big thick thighs and I usually am very comfortable with most cycling shorts. Hopefully these work out as the fabric and pad are excellent.

I'm a size 35 waist. I wear size large in all other Pearl Izumi shorts/tights. These shorts are way too tight for me even in an XL ( I didn't try XXL)

I've ridden about 150 miles this week in these shorts, including a 60 mile ride today. Padding is excellent, and I have a bony butt. I ordered a M and L because others mentioned they seemed to run small, and I agree. In the past I have used M cycling shorts, but the L fit me better in this product.

PI appears to have changed sizing over the last few years. The size chart indicates Medium but it fits too tightly despite my falling into the lower (smaller) end of the medium size range. Also, the claimed inseam length is 9" but it appeared shorter than my other 9" shorts so I measured. It's only 7 inches. The chamois is still good as is the material but PI's sizing is questionable. The fact that the inseam on these shorts is also shorter than PI states is a another star lost.

About Pearl Izumi

Before Kinji Shimizu created the first Pearl Izumi cycling apparel, he spent nearly seven days a week on his bike delivering 90 pounds of clothes to customers. He frequently pedaled 38 miles a day. Years later, after his son received a special Italian-made cycling jersey, Kinji was inspired to start creating his own using the best fabrics he could find. The result soon evolved into the Pearl Izumi brand. In the five decades since, the company Kinji founded has continued working hard to make the best gear possible for dedicated athletes and weekend warriors. From incredibly lightweight Pearl Izumi shoes to sleek, comfortable Pearl Izumi running apparel, few other brands have the same relentless drive toward innovation as Pearl Izumi.
