Great shorts at a great price

Pro level riding shorts at a very good price. Was waiting for these.

Unfortunately, Sierra overcharges on local sales tax and after many requests (all ignored), it leaves a bad imprsssion of the overall transaction.

  • Pearl Izumi was on the money with this one!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by ProfessorPepper from California on Saturday, March 17, 2018
These have dramatically increased the comfort of my biking experience. There aren't any awkward seams or tags that irritate you. I've worn these for the greater part of a day with no issue. As far as the cooling technology goes, I've worn them in hot and cold temperature with equally pleasing results. They are indeed supremely breathable in warm weather and in cold weather, my legs have always seemed to take care of themselves and not get cold. I would highly recommend these to anyone that has ever gotten a sore bum after a bike ride. I was gonna say a long ride but even if I'm just out for an hour these are leaps and bounds better than just wearing the boxers I was used to.
  • Tight fit

I've only ridden once, but they seem to feel very good. The large is tight on me and I am usually between a medium and a large.

Comfortable and very well made. Love that the part between my feet is rub resistant. They fit very well and have nice colors.
  • Well made but tight

These are really nice well made shorts but the sizing is odd. I wear PI size medium in all my other shorts. These mediums were skin tight and fit more like a small. I returned them for a large. These are perfect around the waist but the legs are still really tight ( I have a 34 waist). I am hoping they stretch out with the ride. I don't have big thick thighs and I usually am very comfortable with most cycling shorts. Hopefully these work out as the fabric and pad are excellent.
  • P.R.O. shorts are extremely tight!
Reviewed by RIBiker from Rhode Island on Monday, August 28, 2017
I'm a size 35 waist. I wear size large in all other Pearl Izumi shorts/tights. These shorts are way too tight for me even in an XL ( I didn't try XXL)

    • From what I understand the In-R-Cool is a special cooling frabric. I'd go to the PI website for an explanation though to make sure you get what you want.

About Pearl Izumi

Before Kinji Shimizu created the first Pearl Izumi cycling apparel, he spent nearly seven days a week on his bike delivering 90 pounds of clothes to customers. He frequently pedaled 38 miles a day. Years later, after his son received a special Italian-made cycling jersey, Kinji was inspired to start creating his own using the best fabrics he could find. The result soon evolved into the Pearl Izumi brand. In the five decades since, the company Kinji founded has continued working hard to make the best gear possible for dedicated athletes and weekend warriors. From incredibly lightweight Pearl Izumi shoes to sleek, comfortable Pearl Izumi running apparel, few other brands have the same relentless drive toward innovation as Pearl Izumi.
