4.0 out of 5 stars. Great value!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Robert from San Diego, Ca on Wednesday, August 16, 2017Great shoe! Fits my foot awesome! I tried LG, Giro and Shimano. I like Shimano as well, but these Pearl Izumi's are fantastic.
The touch hits the top of my foot and irritates it a bit, but that starts going away as the shoe breaks in more. I may have had the ratchet too tight as well. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Best MTB shoe everVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Hickory, NC on Monday, June 26, 2017Just got into clipless and have tried 2 different sets. 2nd set was this set of X-Pro 3.0 shoes along w/ Shimano XTR PD M9000 pedals. Talk about the perfect match. The shoes are light, narrow, and well built with the perfect fit. With 3 straps (one being a ratchet) to adjust tension where you want it. They are quick and easy to get on and off. The sole is so stiff you feel as if you are on a large flat pedal. While being so stiff on the bike you can still walk fairly well in the trail.
If you choose an SPD pedal as I did the shoe clips in and out so easy but firm and positive. There is no slop in the shoe to pedal connection, although at the same time your foot/shoe has a very loose and fair amount of float, but stays planted and you ride. So if your riding aggressively your foot can pivot as needed and you never know it’s happening, it feels very natural. As my legs are getting stronger using these new muscles from PULLING on the pedals my times are getting faster and faster. Acceleration is incredible! I can really apply more climbing, spinning, and sprinting power than ever before. Much more over the Maltese/Mallet set up. (below)
1st set was 5 10’s Maltese shoes along with CB Mallet pedals. They are both to big and bulky for what I was looking for, but I guess they do have their intended purpose. The shoe itself is so thick the you feel as if your clipped in to close the crank. It forces you to fight your stance the entire ride. I feel like it’s an optical illusion, but I can’t get used to it. It actually bothers my right knee. They are both listed as “downhill” so I’m sure they would to great there, but for me it does not feel natural for my type of riding. Which is fast XC mostly. -
3.0 out of 5 stars. Not a good fit for meVerified Buyer Reviewed by outdoormama from New Hampshire on Thursday, May 11, 2017I am a women who typically fits much better in a men's shoe due to my wide foot. A Euro 42 is always a little roomy on me so given the reviews about running small & the fact that bike shoes should fit more snug I decided to order the 42 hoping it would be just right. The toe box & instep did fit just right however I had major heel slippage upon walking. I exchanged for a 41.5 which were much too small & squished my toes and yet I still had heel slippage. I suppose the shoe is just not a good fit for me which was disappointing because it felt like it would have been a very comfortable shoe.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very solid but a little high volume for my flat feetReviewed by Gingerman from Rva on Friday, April 21, 2017I went through a couple sized and a few different versions of this x-project and finally settled on a 46. That accommodates the length of my foot but leaves things a little loose at the heal. I can get it tight with a slight folding of the upper. After that, Not too much pop-out but some. Beyond the fit which is a function of my feet these are great and I can really feel the stiffness of the sole vs an older plastic frame Sidi. Riding a single speed 29r means really pushing down hard at times and I like the added power transfer. Easier to walk in than expected as well.
