Upon first impression this vest seems to be very durable and looks nice. The canvas material is tough, but has a much more finished look to it than that of a Carhartt. The insulation and the flannel lined interior is very nice. The vest fits correctly and I can tell this will be a very warm piece for later in the year.

My husband is 6'2" 220, XL fit nicely with room for a bulky shirt to be worn. I think a L would have fit as well, but he is longer waisted, and the XL takes care of that. The vest is Pendleton high quality, outer canvas shell is sturdy yet supple, NOT stiff. The lining is a luxurious Pendleton wool flannel, (NOT itchy) leaving me a bit envious that there was not a women's version of the vest. My husband initially stated that "he wasn't really a vest guy", but proceeded to wear it all day, making several comments on its comfort and quality. I think it is safe to say, he is now "a vest guy"...as long as it's a Pendleton. Thank you, STP for keeping Pendleton within my budget.

About Pendleton

The history of Pendleton blankets dates back to the mid-19th century, when a young man named Thomas Kay travelled west to Oregon and opened a mill in Salem. Kay’s grandchildren eventually went on to establish a mill in Pendleton, Oregon, which crafted blankets and robes for American Indians living in the region, including the Nez Perce, Navajo and Hopi nations. By the early 20th century, the Pendleton clothing line was expanded to include suiting and apparel, including the now legendary Pendleton virgin wool shirt. Today, this renowned American brand owns and operates seven manufacturing facilities as well as 75 Pendleton retail stores.
