My Pendleton Double-Breasted Dress arrived this afternoon, and unfortunately I will be returning it in the morning. Anybody waiting for a size 6, it's coming back. It doesn't flatter me and is tight in the shoulders. And it is not comfortable to sit in. I would have liked it a little longer. As it is, I can't figure out where or how I would wear it. I had hoped to wear it to a concert or opera in Manhattan. But what do I wear for a coat over it for the hour-plus trip? The model displaying this "dress" is wearing trousers. Mine don't look right with this garment. I would have to wear it with tights...if I were going to keep it, which I am not. It is nice material and seems well made. Such a neat idea- a double-breasted dress!

I am returning this item, the fabric is too itchy.
  • Doesn't open like a coat

Beautiful cut and fit, but you have to step in or pull over your head. Not a coat in my opinion, but more like a dress. Won't work for me.
Also, it's very light weight - not the heavy wool I would have expected.
  • not a coat!

This is lovely, but it is a dress that looks like a very lightweight coat. As in, it does not fully open - one must step in, or over the head. It is an odd look as a dress, because it very much looks like a coat. The construction is such that it would be difficult to alter for use as a coat.

About Pendleton

The history of Pendleton blankets dates back to the mid-19th century, when a young man named Thomas Kay travelled west to Oregon and opened a mill in Salem. Kay’s grandchildren eventually went on to establish a mill in Pendleton, Oregon, which crafted blankets and robes for American Indians living in the region, including the Nez Perce, Navajo and Hopi nations. By the early 20th century, the Pendleton clothing line was expanded to include suiting and apparel, including the now legendary Pendleton virgin wool shirt. Today, this renowned American brand owns and operates seven manufacturing facilities as well as 75 Pendleton retail stores.
