A decent, warm wool coat, you must not miss.

High-purity wool material can be windproof and water repellent. The appearance of herringbone sewing is noble, and the zipper is intertwined.

I like the look of this coat, and it is quite warm. It kept me going at -15F when I went stargazing on a trip to northern Wisconsin this January.

I am not crazy about the pocket lining material. It is not satin like the inside of the coat, but an open, catchy material that snags fingernails and callouses. For whatever reason I'm particularly sensitive to that, but I am very happy with everything else about it.

I’ve only worn this Pendleton Coat once since I received it. It is definitely warm and seems to be well made. I mistakenly thought that the collar and cuffs were suede by the picture, which they are not. They are a soft microfiber and I’m curious as to how well they will hold up. So far I am pleased with the purchase.

About Pendleton

The history of Pendleton blankets dates back to the mid-19th century, when a young man named Thomas Kay travelled west to Oregon and opened a mill in Salem. Kay’s grandchildren eventually went on to establish a mill in Pendleton, Oregon, which crafted blankets and robes for American Indians living in the region, including the Nez Perce, Navajo and Hopi nations. By the early 20th century, the Pendleton clothing line was expanded to include suiting and apparel, including the now legendary Pendleton virgin wool shirt. Today, this renowned American brand owns and operates seven manufacturing facilities as well as 75 Pendleton retail stores.
