Verified Buyer Reviewed by Heather from North Carolina on Wednesday, June 17, 2015I like the sweater, though not enough to keep more than one. I'd ordered the navy and taupe (what they call "granite" I think), but I only kept the navy. It's a very dark navy. Very pretty color. I'm bought a Large since we end up "borrowing" each other sweaters. This will be a little loose fitting on my size medium but very slender build 6'0" teenage boy. On my husband 5'10" it will be more form fitting - he carries more weight around his midsection. It hugs me pretty much all over. I'm 5'10" and wear a women's 1x. The neck is very large - more what I'd consider a cowl neck. The sleeves are long, but we've all got long arms and like that. I've have other Peregrine sweaters and have found that the sleeves are quite a bit shorter when they come back from the dry cleaner. The last Peregrine sweater I sent to the dry cleaner was much shorter in the body and sleeves after coming back from the dry cleaner. I'm not sure if it's my dry cleaner or the sweater, but it definitely shrank.
I'm going to enjoy wearing the sweater a lot this winter. It's patterned on both front and back and is a very classy looking sweater. If you like your sweaters to hang really loose, this might not be the one for you, but otherwise it's a beautiful sweater that should last for years and years.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by DC Walker from DC on Tuesday, December 9, 2014I bought a size M, the smallest size available, so that it wouldn't be too baggy on me (female). And the sleeves are the right length for a tall woman - no need to constantly be tugging at them. I am 5'11" and take a size 8-10 normally, so the size M fit well, not loose, not tight. Only the shoulders were a bit large, especially behind the arms. Otherwise it is a nice quality thick sweater for winter. As others have noted, the turtleneck is rather chunky. The merino is heavy gauge yarn, so not like a fine weight sweater. Thus it is also more comfortable to wear a thin tshirt underneath
Verified Buyer Reviewed by DrDeaconBlue from Colorado on Sunday, November 16, 20146'4',@ 210 lbs -XL fights perfect. Extremely warm, although a medium tight weave . Looks great with jeans and under my lambskin jacket. I love the high turtle neck. Absolutely top rate quality . Another keeper ! Thank you again STP !
Reviewed by Heather from Virginia on Saturday, March 1, 2014I ordered a M to wear oversized since I am female! The collar is warm and toasty!! Sleeves are long because it is made for a man, but I can roll the cuffs a little and it is fine.
Reviewed by JAM from Schenectady, NY on Thursday, February 27, 2014I ordered 4 of the Peregrine sweaters - they are all really nicely made and feel warm and cozy. BUT, I only ended up keeping 2 of them. That is because 2 of them, like this one, had a really over-sized collar and I looked really goofy in them. If you are comfortable with a large collar, this might work, but I looked like a Mr. Potato Head!
