Smart wool quality has seemed to suffer and Icebreaker in sometimes over priced in my opinion. That said, I gave these a shot. They seem well made with a nice cushion. I also ordered the regular ankle length and review would be the same. Fabric is not as soft as other brands and these are light weight so not a super tight weave. Almost gave them a 4 rating but considering the price I got on STP and the quality a 5 seemed to fit better. I think they will last. Shrunk a bit after the first wash but seems okay now. Have not given them a lot of wear yet but hope they last. Some of the newer Smart wool I bought wore out pretty fast...too bad. The only brand I still trust for sure is Darn Tough but they do get spendy.
