Verified Buyer Reviewed by Active Grandma from Smoky Mountains of NC on Saturday, January 28, 2017These are truly compression socks because they hug tight to my legs. I haven't really worn them that much yet, but I love merino wool. Very nice quality.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by pkp from Chicago on Monday, December 12, 2016Using compression socks for years to prevent pain/swelling from a 12 hour shift job--now wearing them all the time and have tried many different brands including SmartWool, Dahlgren, and Lorpen compression socks. Was a big fan of the smartwool ones until they started wearing through the toes, heels, balls of the feet, and then wearing holes where the holes were, even after darning them numerous times. They're nice to look at but don't last at all. They also tend to cut in painfully at the top after wearing them for a few hours.
The Point6, Dahlgren, and Lorpen have all been great. Specifically to these socks: They come up to my knee and haven't been leaving a painful groove at the top--big plus! The compression is adequate for my legs, there is less in the feet which I like, though I may be getting to the point that a little more compression in the foot would be good.
For my constantly cold feet, these are nicely thick for cold days, but that's a matter of preference that is hard to judge from a write up like this. No idea how to guess what compression numbers these would be, though I have bought support hose for nurses. These seem to be on the lower side of that scale, and feel like plenty of compression for my legs. I have 12 inch calves and most of these brands have feel like a good fit (except for the painfully tight band at the top).
