SkepticalVerified Buyer Reviewed by Rancher from North Dakota on Wednesday, February 28, 2018My husband needed a new work jacket for cold weather. I was skeptical about the brand, but the price was so good, that it was hard not to order this jacket. My husband loves this jacket!! He says it is better than his old Carhartt Extreme. He wears it when the temperatures are extremely cold and by the time he comes back inside, he is sweating. He is a taller person and likes how this jacket comes down his back and seat. When it comes time to order insulated overalls, we will be looking at this brand again. So, worth the price!
Great Jacket!!!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by WAYNE53 from Monticello, NY on Wednesday, January 24, 2018Looks Great !!!! Made Well!!! Outstanding Value!!!!!
Very WarmVerified Buyer Reviewed by Beth from Kansas on Monday, January 22, 2018Purchased this coat for my husband to use for work. It keeps him very, very warm. Nice, soft material on this inside and plenty of pockets. He usually wears a 2XL, but this does seem to run a little big. Overall, for $22, he feels it was well worth the money.
Superb!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Docsarvis from Chicago on Tuesday, January 16, 2018I wish this store was still Sierra Trading Post and not TJ Max. Nonetheless this particular bargain is reminiscent of the older better store. The coat is simply a STEAL at this price. Very well made, roomy, comfortable. Nice hardware, Heavy duty zipper. Lots of pockets. We had 14 days straight below 20 degrees here in Chicago recently with at least 10 days below zero. This coat kept me warm during this cold period without additional layers. Not sure how water repellent it is. Runs a little large.
Polar BearVerified Buyer Reviewed by DaBull from Michigan on Monday, January 15, 2018First the con, the zipper is poor. With that said I'm a button person so it works well for me. Pros, I work along Lake Michigan and the winter has been brutal for us out there! Co-workers ask all the time is that warm? Yes, this is a great product for the price Because are jobs are physically demanding, so we ruin everything we wear. Time will tell about durability. Two seasons is all I get from boots, pants, coats and etc..
Great ValueVerified Buyer Reviewed by Conrad F. from California on Wednesday, January 10, 2018I bought 10 of these coats. One for myself and the rest to give away. This is a fantastic coat for the money. The only issue is that the super heavy duty metal zipper is stiff on some of the coats. I have an idea that this is why they ended up being closeouts. The zipper issue can be easily fixed with a shot of dry silicone or some other lube and by simply using the zipper. It is rated for 30 degrees below zero. I would suggest ordering a size smaller than you normally take because these coats are designed to be worn over other layers. Their commercial use was for working in freezers.
useless zipperReviewed by longtime Sierra shopper from socal on Saturday, January 6, 2018excellent tough jacket, extremely well made. Fantastic insulation.
Sadly, the zipper is junk. I can see why they were cheap.
Lubricating it with beeswax helps, but its just bad hardware.
It'll drive you crazy
Cut it out or just don't use it.
Comes with hood snaps but no hood. No biggie.
DecentVerified Buyer Reviewed by Medic-G from Virginia on Saturday, January 6, 2018It is difficult to buy a jacket/coat online. Picked this up on a 25% off sale; therefore, it only cost me $25.00. I see it is now on clearance for $22.00. It is a good buy at $22.00. Here are my pros and cons.
Pros: Cost, feels durable, feels warm. I've worn this only a couple of times on 5-10 degree days on my ~0.5 mile walk from my parking spot to work. It has kept me warm. True to size (although "bulky".)
Cons: Zipper was stiff. Had to really work it and put some zipper lube on it to make it work smoothly. The Polar Plus labels on the jacket (not removable). "Bulky" with my wife making the comment it looked like a "boat coat". Sleeves are cut pretty big/wide which gives it the "bulky"/"boat coat" look.
Was going to buy another one for use in the garage in the winter months because the price was right and with the low price I wouldn't worry if I got dirt, oil, grease, etc. from working in the garage on it. Didn't get another because they no longer had my size.
Overall, decent for the money.
