I'm 5'5" and about 140lbs. I ordered a Medium. I wear a size 7/8 jean and couldn't get more than the top button closed. The sleeves and length of the coat were perfect otherwise so going up a size I don't think would have been the solution. Probably a better fit for someone a little taller and very slender.

I read another review and sized up to an XXL (I'm on the large side of 16) and it felt and looked like a bathrobe on me. I'm tempted to try an XL, but have a feeling it will be too snug. The collar was wrinkled and stood up awkwardly. Maybe a toss in the dryer would help with that. The quality is excellent and I liked the length.
