4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice rod!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Rick from North GA on Wednesday, June 24, 2020Was sold a damaged used rod from Sierra Trading Post. But the rod cast really nice. Looks sweet and I have about 100 fish caught with it now and my only complaint with the rod itself is you need to be diligent about making sure the sections are tight or you will cast off your tip section.
I have been fly fishing for over 40 years and have rods that cost almost a grand and for the money this is a sweet rod matter of fact it has opened my eye to modern glass rods. It is much, much lighter then earlier glass, more sensitive and better looking then the stuff I cast many, many years ago. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. I'm a newbie, but I love itVerified Buyer Reviewed by beth the newbie from Maryland on Friday, January 24, 2020I like the size for the small streams I'll use this for. Has a nice feel in my hands. Bonus, great color.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Small Stream SweetReviewed by rjb from Pennsylvania on Monday, May 13, 2019Excellent rod for the price. It's fiberglass, so it bends from the butt through the tip making for slower action. I fish local small streams in Pennsylvania, typically with overhanging trees. This rod perfectly fits the scenario. First outing took several nice trout on light tippets attached to nymphs. The softness of the rod protected the light line, with enough sensitivity to make the fight exciting, fly placement will take more practice before I can comment on that aspect. The rod is finished well, protected by a nice liner wrap and hard tube. Sections fit together well and the reel seating is secure. II suspect it will become my go-to rod for small streams. I would prefer a larger butt guide, but this one is not atypical for contemporary rods - hence the deduction of one star. At this price, I am contemplating more to for teaching any willing grandkids without risking more expensive blanks.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great rod for the $$$Verified Buyer Reviewed by trout from Minnesota on Friday, March 29, 2019Casts great in any place smaller then a two lane highway, the fiberglass rod has a great feel too it. My only complaint is the top section of the rod occasionally falls off while casting (once or twice in a all day trip)

2.0 out of 5 stars. Not 7' or 4 wtReviewed by Tarponntrout from Colorado on Friday, March 29, 2019I ordered the blue version and it came as an 8' 5 wt. Looked like a decent rod but wasn't looking for a 5 wt or 8' rod. ordered the red version, we'll see if it is actually that is listed.

1.0 out of 5 stars. TrashVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New Jersey on Wednesday, March 20, 2019First I have 15 year old Powell 9 ft 5 wt. I’m thinking “ I know it’s cheap, but how bad could it be”. I revived a 8 ft model that was picked wron, ordered a 4pc 7’6”, and after opening and inspecting it, I was so disappointed. Wraped it back up and sent it back. Yes I’m still looking for a small stream rod.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Lightweight Fiberglass Fly RodVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hunter from Minnesota on Sunday, August 19, 2018I tested the rod in a grass field using a 4 weight sink tip line. It easily made 30 foot casts with little effort.
Can't wait to take it out and fish on a small wooded stream.
