I did not even try the medium on. It looked like it would fit an XL. The small was a bit loose around the band, but the outer edge of the front is about 3 inches in from your arm pit. Don't know how else to describe it. It doesn't even begin to cover the outside of your breasts. Every picture I can find shows the model with her arms down against her body. That's because if they weren't, you would see the gaping area in front of the arm. I'm a 34 B-C. Even an A cup could not pull this off.
