Not very brightVerified Buyer Reviewed by Grumpy Ole Bill from Neptune Beach on Tuesday, July 11, 2017For such a well known company, this light was a big disappointment. It simply was not bright enough to be used in my tent for reading. Well made, clever solar power just not much light power..
It's OKVerified Buyer Reviewed by Yoshi13 from Los Angeles on Monday, June 19, 2017It is good product but not so bright. 2??
Not so solar lampVerified Buyer Reviewed by Search harder from San Francisco Bay Area on Monday, April 6, 2015Returned light; on 3-D batteries it works well enought but the plastic framing is irritating with the alternating rectangular profile (like a castle turrent top, with rectangular teeth jutting up)n throwing oddly spaced shadows. Most importantly the solar isn't working; the onboard battery never chrarges (3-D cells are removed) after several hours in direct sunlight.
extremely good results with this lantern first trip !Verified Buyer Reviewed by Carpenter Del from Maryland on Tuesday, May 13, 2014I really enjoyed this lantern, while car camping at the National Seashore. Provides different light settings. Very good bargain.
Poor design and lousy customer serviceReviewed by Spec from Upstate NY on Thursday, January 16, 2014I wouldn't buy this design of Primus lantern if I were you. The base has a screw cap to hold the batteries in, and this cap will crumble at the slightest provocation. Drop it? Done. Over tighten? Done. I had a pair of this style stored in my basement for power outage. When I went to get them, both base caps had cracked just from sitting, I assume from screw on tension when installing the batteries. The plastic shards seemed hard and brittle. What's worse, after contacting Primus/Brunton, I was told to send in and they would take care of it. So I shipped them off. 5 months and many emails and phone calls later, I received replacement lanterns. And they are the same design. Just waiting for them to break. Yay!
Seriously, save yourself a big headache and get something of good design and quality. There are many out there from Black Diamond, etc. Even Coleman and EverReady make far better. Sorry STP, I love you, but there's a reason Primus dumped these on you to try and clearance.
