This is my 2nd one & I am very pleased with it. I like the different modes and for it's price point it is a very good value.

I've been using various "generations" of Apex headlamps for many years now. The first few I owned had a weak hinge at the lamp housing, and they had a tendency to break there. Princeton Tec was really good about replacing these under warranty (lifetime). Later Princeton Tec improved the hinge design and upped the lumens making this a fairly robust light. Fast forward to now (Aug. 2016). I recently ordered two more Apex lights from STP. For some strange reason, both lights had this strange blue spot at the center of the beam (probably a defective LED). Returned them both but am now hesitant in getting any more. STP was great in handling the return. I think Princeton Tec failed quality control on these recent lamps which were new in box.

The actual product that you would receive would be a 200 lumen headlamp that does not have plug in charge capabilities. I uses three AA batteries. I have returned two from separate orders recently. I have had multiple phone discussions with customer service to finally get them to admit this was an incorrect listing. STP is continuing to list this item after more than a week since problem was identified and were to correct the listing.
