Verified Buyer Reviewed by Old Seabee from Oklahoma on Monday, August 17, 2015Love the sliding filters. So many others on the market require you to cycle through white light before getting to subdued.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Phil from San Francisco on Friday, August 14, 2015I am pretty stoked on this headlamp, which was on sale for $12 at the time. I really like the fact that the red (or blue or green) filters slide up, and can be used at any the 3 levels of light (the fourth "light mode" is a slow blink on/off, which I don't find very useful.) I find the brightest light setting with the red filter works really well at night. I kind of wish there was a spot within the headlamp to store the other two color filters, but I really don't use the blue or green filter. I also like that you don't have to cycle through all of the brightness settings with turning off the headlamp. That can often be annoying, but this one will turn off with the click of the button as long as it hasn't been clicked within 1.5 seconds. It also came with a digital camo strap, which I don't mind, though it was unexpected. The button is easy to press, and the headlamp is pretty lightweight but feels sturdy in its construction. You can adjust the head lamp to face more downward as well, which is a little hard to get back upright, but I think I'd rather have it be more rigid than floppy/loose. Overall, a serious upgrade from the one I had before!

Verified Buyer Reviewed by Discman711 from Garland, Texas on Wednesday, July 15, 2015This is a nice rugged water tight headlamp for the price. A little heavy on the forehead. The interchangeable lens covers are interesting, however there is a holder for one, one can be on the headlamp for use but there is nowhere to store the third lens so I feel it will be hard to keep track of because it is just a little piece of molded plastic (easy to lose).
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Patti from Wisconsin on Saturday, July 11, 2015The price was so good that I thought the product might be cheap, but not so. Perfect for my use.

“I purchased this headlamp and noticed that even though it comes with 3 filters for the light (red, blue and green) the spare filter holder only seems to hold one filter, not both of the spares. Am I doing it wrong or is this a design flaw? It doesn't say anything about it in the directions.
Only one filter at a time seems to fit. I agree that the directions are not entirely helpful; there is a piece that may store the lenses that clips onto the headband that the directions fail to address. Red filter to maintain night vision, yellow filter for mist or fog. I have no idea what conditions call for a blue filter.
Sorry for slow reply. I never gave it much thought because I don't bother with blue filter. I did a quick check and yes I can only get one spare lens in the holder without running risk of scratching or breaking the lenses. It is probably a design flaw, but one that has not affected the way I use it mainly with green lens.
“does the lamp itself have both white and red LED, or is it only a function of changing the lens color? thank you!”
It's got red, blue and green lens covers. The light itself is white. But you have to open the hatch to insert the lens cover.
The lamp does not have multi-colored LEDs. Only white. The colored lenses must be changed out, but once installed can slide up for use, or slide down for using the white LED. It is handy if you need to use only one colored lens at a time.
