The combination of the name Puma, German steel and made in China was not an acceptable representation in the product I received as the blade had a noticeable degree of lateral movement when in the open/ locked position. I contacted STP about the quality issue and returned the item for a total refund. STP remains a noted source for my outdoor needs.

About Puma Knife Company

Johann Wilhelm Lauterjung started forging Puma knives in 1769 just outside Solingen, a city in western Germany that has been a hub of fine German blacksmithing and knife-making for more than 1000 years. Based in Lenexa, Kansas, Puma Knife Company USA has been the North American distributor of Puma knives since 2009. After nearly two and a half centuries, Puma knife blades are still forged in Germany using only the highest-quality steel. In addition, every Puma knife blade is tested by a Rockwell hardness tester before being shipped to the manufacturer to ensure a superior product.
