5'11" 215 lbs lets say winter weight cause that's up there for me. I bought a large and XL, wanting a softshell I could put an insulated jacket under. Actually, the large was bigger than I thought it would be, if I was under 205 it might have made it, but the shoulders were the limitation for me. That stitching at the shoulders did not make it to the end of my shoulders, and some extra weight in the armpit area caused some discomfort in the shoulder upper arm area. The XL solved that and left plenty of room for primaloft jacket underneath. The quality of this jacket is great, really like the polartec materials. Always wear a fanny pack or more walking the dog, day hiking, etc. the pockets really work well with a waistbelt, which was one of the more annoying things with my other jackets. I think the Rab gear is first rate and wish Sierra would get more of their gear.
