Being a Brit and living in California I thought I might use a pun and say that I am not from down under but that is for Aussies. I received this fabulous jacket a week ago and then the temperature rose so I have not used the jacket yet. It is beautiful, light and with Sierra Trading Post's ultra quick delivery it would be hard to find fault with this purchase. This is the third Rab jacket that I have bought in the last three months so I for one am sold on this label.

I love this jacket. I'd never gotten a bomber jacket before, as I don't like the style. However, I'm doing a Thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in March, so I needed a seriously warm jacket for the first and last couple months. I've worn this jacket in temperatures ranging from 0 degrees Fahrenheit to 40 degrees. Let me tell you: you can wear this jacket UNZIPPED with nothing but a t-shirt underneath in 20 degree weather and still be toasty warm. I am very confident that if you put up the hood, zipped it fully, and put your hand in the built in hand-warmers; you could be warm at -10 and survive at negative 25. This jacket will not fail you. Another amazing feature, that I didn't even know existed (my dad refused to believe it), is that it can be machine washed. Let me repeat, you can throw this non-synthetic down jacket in the washing machine. Somehow they've worked magic with goose feathers. The point is: if you live where it consistently gets below 10 degrees Fahrenheit or if you're a winter camper/climber please do yourself a favor and buy this product.

I was not given a free jacket for this review; all of my reviews are based on my experience with the products I buy and use in my daily life.

I had about a dozen compliments on this jacket on day 1. It looks great, is comfortable, weighs hardly anything and keeps me warm all day outside in the winter. I coach skiing so I literally stand around in the cold a lot. It is made for climbing, so there are really deep armpits so the sleeves don't ride up. Love this things. Comes with a stuff sack too. Fits pretty slim so I sized up one.

I happened to "snag" this jacket in my exact size at STP..........At half the normal online price I picked this up even though the color is a tad bright for my tastes......Well, it will be good for hiking during hunting season.......The construction and amount of 850 fill and the compressibility of this jacket is worth the normal retail price. It is very warm instantly........I will always wear this under a shell which only increases it's warmth. Yes there are some little nit picky things that could be better but the design is with weight and compressibility in mind and I believe that is why certain things are the way they are.........Bottom line, I've never owned a warmer jacket period........Thanks again Sierra Trading Post........
