Rab Mens Size Chart
Note: Measurements are in inches. Regular Fit garments are designed to be versatile and are not closely fitted for cross-seasonal use and multi-layering. Garments are contoured with room for movement. Slim Fit garments are designed to be worn closer to the body or over layers such as base-layers and light mid-layers. Close fitting for maximum performance when moving dynamically. Expedition garments are designed to be worn in colder conditions and over more layers of clothing than our other fits and as such are oversized slightly to allow for this.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by The Freedom Goliath from Antarctica on Wednesday, December 14, 2016So I will say I don't have lots of experience with this coat. I ended up returning it because the slimmer fit didn't work with my barrel chest and, even tho it worked with my chest, it made the small armhole cutouts too restricting for me. (High cut arm holes made for unrestricted movement and action--- like how Daniel Craig's suits are tailored in his 007 roles)
Which is a BUMMER! I really liked this jacket and wanted to keep it. It was a really nice compromise between the ultra lightweight 6oz rain jackets and the heavy duty 16 ounce jackets. More durable and featured than the lightest without taking up tons of pack weight for a piece of gear you neeeed when you need it.
So, anyways- if you don't have a big ole chest and manual labor arms, this should be a good fit.
No pit zips because of the aim of weight savings-
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Colin from Oregon on Tuesday, July 5, 2016This is NOT an every day wear waterproof jacket. It is a specialized piece of gear specifically for people for whom every gram of extra weight counts. As part of my backpacking kit, this jacket is a perfect outer layer for keeping dry while keeping my pack weight down. It is not a durable, thick, full-feature jacket; it's extremely light and made for a very specific need.
Cut is a bit odd with long arms and a "poof" in the stomach area. Both of these are actually helpful features as the arms are great for covering your hands (last thing you want is short arms on a rain jacket!) and the poof helps the jacket move better as a layer when you have your backpack waist belt on. Sizing is maybe a tiny bit on the big size. I'm 6'1, 180 with 43" chest and 32 waist. I'm normally a L but sometimes a M in jackets. Ordered a Large and can see this could be a situation where a medium would work but as I normally backpack in cold conditions I prefer to leave room for layering.
For its intended purpose, a solid 5 star jacket. For any other use than for activities like hiking and bikepacking I'd give it 2 stars.
Reviewed by Ebars from Nh on Wednesday, June 8, 2016This jacket is light! Material is thin, not for extended bushwhacking, but seems durable enough given the payoff. Havent tested it extensively but it seems to breath well, and sheds rain nicely. The DWR seems solid as well.
Fit: I'm 6' 205lbs 45" chest. I took the XL as I wanted a bit of extra coverage and for it to come below my pack hip belt. Fits well, except the arms are sized for an Orangutan. Rab seems to do this with some of their jackets. The velcro wrist tabs keep it from moving past my hands but there's a fair amount of bunched fabric.
Solid adjustment points on hood and hem. Nice deep hand pockets that double as vents. Overall great lightweight addition for backpacking and general use. I don't usually wear green but I really dig the apple color.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by jrhubb92 from West Virginia on Wednesday, April 27, 2016This jacket seems pretty awesome. Super light weight which is why I bought it, it folds into its own pocket really easily. Overall seems like a great deal and a pretty rad jacket.
