Great cut, good materials, quality shirt

As with all Rab products I love the fit. They are a leaner cut. The XL works well for me. I am 6'4", 190 with long torso and the shirt is long enough without being too boxy and loose. I have worn it on a couple of cold Michigan November hikes and the next to skin comfort and wicking properties are superb. The neck is the perfect size to keep out drafts without choking. In a dress short I wear a 16.5" collar. A lot of XL shirts have a neck too large for me and do not prevent drafts. The sleeves are long enough for my 35" sleeves but again are trim fit to easily layer under other garments.
I have not yet taken on overnights or longer to test the anti synthetic funk properties of the part Merino, part poly material. Like a lot of "Merino" labeled tops a substantial amount of the top is a synthetic.
The shirt is labeled as a midweight however I usually consider a "200" to be midweight. It is not a lightweight that you can see through by any stretch, but I would consider it to lighter side of midweight.
I love RABs quality, cut and soft hand. The shirt is going to be a go to baselayer for me. If it passes the stink test for multi-day trip as well as it did an extremely long and hard day hike I will use this a bunch. I like the deep neck zipper for ventilation options. This is now my 3rd RAB Shirt and they are becoming a rapid favorite brand due to quality, soft hand, cut, and appearance that doesn't scream at you with fluorescent contrasting stitching everywhere. Their base layer comfort is unsurpassed without sacrificing performance.
