Nice coatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Nick from Delaware on Friday, February 16, 2018This coat is nice and warm. Seems to be good quality, with lots of pockets
Cool coat, bit smallVerified Buyer Reviewed by jmtier from New York on Friday, January 26, 2018This is a nice coat and actually heavier than I thought it would be. I'm about 5'8", 140 lbs and tried the medium but returned it bc it was a little too small. Would have loved to try a large but they're out of stock. It fit, but only with a light shirt underneath and I need more room and flexibility. But I loved the look of it and the length.
Warm but you may want to size upVerified Buyer Reviewed by DaffyD from FL on Monday, December 25, 2017Bought for a December trip north - fortunately I had a Plan B coat, since this one had to go back. It felt like it would be warm but the cut didn't work for this busty woman. I ordered up a size and still - nope. Also, the shoulders and upper arms were a bit narrow/restricting so I wouldn't have wanted to wear it for long periods or for anything active. The color is a nice change from the more usual black or beige outerwear.
Too big and bulkyVerified Buyer Reviewed by PuddleSplasherPDX from Portland, OR on Monday, December 18, 2017Unfortunately, while this coat was cute, it was also very heavy, not close to waterproof, due to the wool knit accents, and was missing other key elements like a 2-way zipper, and was tight in the shoulders, but large in the wrists, and hood. I sent this one back in favor of one that would fit a little more of what I need.
Attractive, warm, but somewhat awkward cut and terrible zipperVerified Buyer Reviewed by Kaz from Virginia on Monday, December 18, 2017This coat is beautiful and warm. It is stylish, especially with the curved seams. The overall design appeals to me, and I particularly liked the longer length. However, there are three crucial issues that make it a return item for me. First, the zipper is extremely flimsy and difficult to start. It looks like it belongs on a wind breaker or other very light jacket rather than a polyfill parka. Additionally, it is only a one-way zipper, which makes the coat confining when sitting. My second issue is the finger holes on the sleeve extensions: Even though I do not have long arms, the holes feel like they are misplaced, and they constrict my thumb and cause the sleeve to pull. This creates a third issue, involving the snap on only one side of the chest area. Due to the pull on the sleeve, one of the snaps constantly popped loose while I was wearing the parka. I re-snapped it, only to have it pop loose again when I moved my arm. The shoulders and chest fit comfortably, but the body at the hips was slightly tight, even though there is a flare to the design. Normally I wear a L or M in coats, and the sizing measurements were accurate for me with the L. I am disappointed that it didn't work, but it will go back.
Seems warm, but too tightReviewed by Patricia from Virginia on Thursday, December 7, 2017I ordered a Small. I'm 5'3", approx 118 lbs, and full chested. The coat was just too tight across the chest -- and no wiggle room across the back or elsewhere. The medium will almost certainly be too large, so I'm sending this back for a refund.
Weak stitchingVerified Buyer Reviewed by Joyofwintermadness from Wisconsin on Wednesday, December 6, 2017This jacket is super warm and comfortable. It fits well in all the right places. It has awesomely large pockets. BUT! It has pretty weak stitching. Within the first week of wearing it daily I ripped through the stitching on one of the pockets, and not long after that the bottom of the zipper ripped out of the coat. I was able to repair both and still enjoy its warmth.
Quality CoatVerified Buyer Reviewed by ulaluma from North California on Wednesday, December 6, 2017I've only worn it once so far so do not know how it will hold up over time, but it's warm and seems to be good quality, with lots of pockets that I appreciate!
Warm, flattering, great priceReviewed by Kati-Scarlet from Seattle, WA on Tuesday, December 5, 2017I've lost 80 lbs over the past year, and I've never been cold like this in the winter before. When the temperature started really dropping, I knew: 1) last year's coat wasn't an option, and 2) I would need a new winter coat long enough to cover my no-longer-well-padded rump and thighs. This thankfully got delivered yesterday. It was 34*F this morning, but anything inside the coat didn't even feel the cold. I am so happy! And no cold car seat to make my cheeks sad!
I seem to wear a 12 or L in almost all bottoms and most tops. I ordered an XL based on reviews and it fits almost perfectly, so definitely go up. I have room for a sweater but it doesn't look extra bulky. I say it fits almost perfectly because it is just a touch snug across the upper chest above the bust line (I am 42" @ bust, 38DD bra, shoulders are on the wider side, 42" hips). There are two snap pockets (see the diagonal lines at armpit height?) and they want to come unsnapped if I have it zipped and pull my arms back. I'd say it could use about 1" more width between the arms across the front, the back is totally fine. Keep it in mind if you are a busty lady. On the plus side, those pockets are HUGE, so I'm not about to sew them shut. They are snaps. Not really brain surgery.
The coat is HEAVY, like it weighs a ton. I don't especially mind, but I would never describe it as "packable." I have freakishly long arms (I'm 68" tall and have a 69" wingspan) and the sleeves are more than long enough. The way they made them just doesn't lend itself to using the thumb holes, though. I *could* use them, but it isn't comfortable. You can roll the outer sleeves down over the cuffs, so you can hide the thumb holes easy enough if want. I didn't get it for the thumb holes, so I don't care. The cinching elastic through the waist lets you customize the hourglass shape to match your own. I would of rather had it inside than outside, but again, I don't really care. The coat looks great and is toasty warm.
very warm!Verified Buyer Reviewed by A.L. from Upstate NY on Tuesday, December 5, 2017Beautiful, well designed coat. Very warm without being too bulky. I love the warmth of the high back collar and the length. Is not restrictive when I bend or sit, even when I sit. A great casual coat purchase for upstate NY weather!

“How many pockets ”
This has two pockets.
There are 4 in front, 2 inside.
“How insulated is this parka? Is it recommended more for spring/fall or also for winter?”
There is not an amount given on the insulation. Sorry there is not a temperature rating. Most manufacturers do not have temperature ratings for their garments or footwear due to the number of factors that affect how warm a garment may keep you.
