Like others have said, these boots are just great out of the box. I previously owned Iron Rangers, and while they looked nice, they never felt right and offered no support or traction. While I wouldn't want to be walking on ice with these 1907's, they offer more traction in most other conditions. ... Read More

Nice looking boots at nearly half off the normal retail price (and the RW Heritages NEVER go on sale). I couldn't find any flaws!

Best boots ever! I always wanted to have them now i have them! The most thing that i like about these boots is that they are gonna be beautiful as time goes by. I get old but they get better! I definitely sure that i am gonna get another pair of Red wing boots!

STP’s dealflyer price for these boots, which in theory didn’t make the factory’s cut as first rate, is a great value. I couldn’t find even a minor flaw in these boots save for the small hole they punch in the tongues indicating they’re factory seconds. Great leather. USA made. Old school craftsmanship.

Size them down at least .5 and get them tight at first. They will break in over time and conform to your foot. If they feel comfortable out of the box, you’ve purchased them too big and they’ll be sloppy in 6 months. Be patient during the break in period. These boots are intended to last years and will do so if worn as designed.

Although I haven't worn these boots yet, I know I'm going to love them. Great quality and made in the USA. And although they're being sold as factory seconds, I can't find a single thing wrong with them. I also bought the Red Wing Iron Rangers Rangers which appeared to also be perfect. Probably one of the best deals on the Sierra Trading Post! I bought one half size down. I hear they stretch about a half size in width once broken in.

  • “What does “factory 2nds” mean?”
Asked by nollie from calorado on 3/10/2017 12:54:57 AM
    • Factory seconds are products that have a cosmetic blemish and did not pass the quality control of the company. They should be structurally sound with the only blemish being the problem

    • It means that they did not pass quality control at Red Wing. However, I believe their process is so strenuous that some boots just can't pass. Therefore, consumers like us get an opportunity to buy them at a discounted price. I cannot find any mistakes on the pair I bought from STP. And besides, they have such a great return policy that if you did not like the pair you bought you could exchange them. I hope this helps. Seconds usually means a stitching error or something might not be dead center etc...
      I hope this helps. Blessings

    • 2nds: Minor cosmetic blemishes or irregularities which do not affect the fit, performance, or longevity of the item. Label is usually clipped by the manufacturer. A small flaw means big savings.

Occasionally we are able to reorder a product, but closeout items are typically unable to be reordered. We suggest signing up for the My Updates as the best way to monitor incoming products. About Red Wing Heritage

The Red Wing Heritage can be traced back to 1905, when German immigrant Charles H. Beckman founded the brand in Red Wing, Minnesota. Having spent his early working years at a leather factory, Beckman entered the footwear industry with a single goal in mind: to provide hard-working Americans with top-quality, comfortable shoes and boots that are made to last. The brand expanded quickly over the years, and even continued to grow during the Great Depression. Today, after more than a century in the business, the Red Wing Heritage has become an icon of American craftsmanship, and Red Wing shoes are still being manufactured in the United States, with production facilities in Minnesota, Missouri and Kentucky.
