Reviewed by Moosaki from WV/PA/MD/VA on Friday, October 17, 2014The rod is trully a classic. It has good action and equally fun whether the trout is 10"s or 25"s and 5-6 pounds. It works well in still, moving and fast water. These are not easy to come by. It is comparable to a $500 competitor.
Reviewed by John E from Oklahoma on Sunday, March 3, 2013Ordered the 8ft 4 wt and the 8.5 5 wt. I am very impressed with both.
A well known fly fishing school uses these as their instructional rods because of their ease of casting. Very high quality construction and appearance as compared to my more expensive rods. These are the same blanks as the new Redington Tempt series but with minor cosmetic changes. Lifetime Guarantee, construction QC'd by Sage. I am looking for a 3.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by The Hatch Matcher from Kansas City, KS on Sunday, November 11, 2012In this age of high-tech, fast-action fly rods that are not easy to cast, tiring if one fishes all day, and that tend to break one's tippet far too easily when the fish stikes, it is hard to find a medium-action rod that is affordable, of high quality, and pleasant to throw. For those of us who prefer such rods, the Redington Classic Trout is the perfect product.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by McCleod from Down by the river on Saturday, November 10, 2012Got this rod on one of STPs many sale options and it was well worth it. Nice to be able to casually cast a decent amount of line without working hard. Ferrules need a little extra cramming to make sure they don't slip and had the reel fall off once due to the up locking ring coming loose but other than that I enjoy using this rod.
