Haven't gotten the chance to actually use this yet it's been to cold. However it seems to be a decent pole. It's very light seems to be made of good quality, well put together. Very attractive pole as well, love the feel of the rubbery handle, should be able to fish for hours with this type of grip ... Read More

  • Lifeless broomstick crossed with an old banana

This rod received some good reviews when it came out. I bought it. It felt heavy and dead in the hand, and was a horrific chore to fish with. The synthetic grip was good. That was all. I fished it for 2 days, just to be sure. 9054 nymphing and dry fly fishing.

I thought I was crazy, and then I ran my findings past a few really good fly shops. I found Yellowstone Angler’s review, where they concur. I have 9 or 10 5 weights and fish 80-100 days a year. This is by far the worst 5 weight I fished with. I actually took it back. Only rod I ever did that with.

  • “It is suggested for freshwater use, if used in saltwater what should I be concerned with?”

    • With any pole you should be worried about sand/salt in your reel, as for the pole it's kinda small for saltwater, might need to go with a 8 or bigger, but I'm no expert
