Verified Buyer Reviewed by Lucy J from Colorado on Monday, August 22, 2016The good: The material is light and thin, perfect for those really hot days. They seem well-constructed, and they are stylish. The chamois liner is the best I've ever seen that comes with a pair of baggies--it's a legitimately nice chamois.
The bad: The sizing is insane. I bought a small. The liner fit me great (5'3", 115 lbs with cyclist's thighs), but the outer shorts were so huge I could pull them off while buttoned. Not sure how the sizing between the two pieces can be so inconsistent! Maybe my pair was a fluke. I kept the liner and gave the shorts to a friend they fit.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Louise from Washington on Monday, August 15, 2016This is a two piece set of inner spandex bike shorts with the gel like seat and an outer baggy separate pair of casual shorts. The inner spandex shorts were too small; primarily too short waisted for me. The outer shorts seemed a couple of sizes larger and were too large around my waist. I sent them back.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Hayden Parr from Appalachian Mtns of TN on Thursday, June 2, 2016Bought these for my teen daughter. She's a runner and pole vaulter and has slightly more muscular thighs than the average girl on a slender frame. I bought 2 different mtn bike shorts for her to try. This pair ran smaller than the other brand especially in the thighs yet this Fox brand had a little better bottom padding. Otherwise they seemed fantastic quality.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Kari from New Hampshire on Wednesday, May 25, 2016I am just getting into mountain biking and was looking for a comfortable loose short that wouldn't be too baggy. I picked these up after reading some positive reviews and wore them for my first trip to Highland Bike Park and was really pleased. The fit is good with a flattering cut and cute color and design (I got the black heather with pink logo). I picked up a size medium and am 5-5 and 145 lbs. The fabric is a little snug (especially the liner, which made a short of bulge around the bottom of my thigh where the elastic was tighter than the rest of the material) but both the liner and short have plenty of stretch so they did not feel restrictive at all. Because the legs are tapered and a bit more form fitting they are a little awkward to wear with knee pads, but they did stretch over them. I did take slide out on them and the fabric was fine - the dirt brushed right off. My first impression is that the material is excellent and these are of high quality, with attention to detail and craftsmanship. The shorts also appear to breathe well and don't absorb a ton of sweat or water.
I've worn heavily padded Pearl Izumi tight shorts for a cross country bike trip I did and I liked the chamois of these shorts much better. They didn't make me look like I had a butt bulge and had a nice compromise of padding and comfort. They have a small zip pocket in the back that is good for a pair of keys but not much else. Otherwise there are no pockets for storage.
I haven't had these shorts long enough to comment on how well they wear over time with abuse, crashes, and washings, but if they hold up then I'll be really happy!
Quality details, stitching, and materials
Flattering cut, good fit
Stretchy material is comfortable, breathable, and water resistent
Includes padded liner (many mtb shorts at similar price points are just a shell)
Not much storage - only one tiny pocket
Difficult to wear with knee pads
Legs may be too tight/tapered for those with thicker thighs, especially the liner
Reviewed by Lisa Mather from Mammoth Lakes, CA on Tuesday, May 10, 2016I'm really happy I bought these shorts. The material is really nice, and the chamois (like the other review said) is top notch. I feel like I could where these shorts all day. I originally ordered the M and they were too big, now I have the S and they fit great. I am about 5'6, 128lb and usually where size 4-6 in clothing.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Megafuera from NC on Sunday, May 1, 2016Really enjoying these shorts after a long, fun ride in NC. The padding is top notch (big improvement over my quite old bike shorts) and the overshort is stretchy, comfortable next to the skin and looks good too. I bought a M, 5'4, 140# that fits very well. My only complaint is why don't they put some pockets on these? Men's shorts always have great pockets and for some reason, they don't think women need them? One tiny one in the back... good thing I wear a pack usually.
