    Nice jacket, light and with the lining, I believe it would be surprisingly warm. I am 5 ft 9 inches tall. On me, the belt was on my ribs rather than my waist. It was not feasible to remove or shift the belt loops down without creating holes in the fabric. If this were available in a tall so the belt could rest where my waist is, it would be a wonderful jacket. I sent it back since I will not wear something where the fit is not right.

    I love this coat so far. I can't wait for the first downpour to see if I love it after. It's wonderfully stylish and functional. Great pockets!

    I have wanted a trench for some time, but wanted a cooler tone of color. I got this in "Fossil", and I love it. It's a light beige, but it's got very cool undertones, with med. gray trim at the shoulders and inside the hood. The interior is shiny silver, super lightweight thermal material. I don't know if the thermal thing works, but it surely looks cool! There is a small hidden pocket inside the coat towards the middle of the placket area, and a small zip pocket on the left sleeve near the wrist. The two outer pockets also zip. I am 5'7" and the length comes to about maybe 4" above my knees--I'd call it more of a coat than a jacket because of the length. It looks a little longer on me than in the picture. I also have long arms, and the sleeves come to mid-hand, which is really nice when it's wet and I want to stay dry. My measurements are about 39.5-32.5-41.5. I got a large. It fits as if it were custom made for me BUT, BUT the shoulders are not extra big. It's not an oversized coat at all. This means there is probably not enough room to wear a really thick, bulky sweater underneath this coat. For me, this is not a problem because I have thicker coats for truly cold weather, but keep this in mind. It not only is a quality coat, it looks like a quality coat. I feel like I look very good in it and am so happy I selected this one rather than a cheaper version. I will enjoy this for years.

    Wanted a coat I could take to Scotland that was waterproof, warm and stylish. Loved the look of this ..and ordered an XL in case I had to layer. I was so disappointed when I tried this on....it seems to run small due taloiring. The sleeves were long...but I could have lived with that. Have ti retyrn it and start over again...so sad this one didn't work out

    I love the fit and style of the coat, but it's a little lighter than I expected. More like a lined raincoat that a mid-level winter coat as a previous reviewer had mentioned. It's got a silver "omni-heat" liner that's supposed to be both breathable and warm, and it is breathable. But the wind cuts through it, making it not warm enough for much below the 50's. I've tried it with a sweater underneath and it's really not enough for anything approaching winter temperatures. I'm keeping it, though. It's got great style and it really is waterproof. It's just not warm enough to fit the niche in my wardrobe that I had hoped for.

    This jacket is great. It met all the things I wanted in my new jacket:
    - it's warmer than a super-thin spring jacket, but it's not too hot, and not puffy; maybe as warm as a medium wool coat, but somehow you don't overheat in this; also, the hood is lined so it gives some extra-warmth. You can probably comfortably wear it in the 30s with a warm fleece, but not much below that. I've mostly worn it with temps in the 40s and 50s with thin sweaters underneath and it's great for that.
    - I wanted something that's a bit water-resistant, this one is waterproof; I haven't tried it in the rain, but one good thing so far is that you don't get sweaty;
    - it looks very classy and has a great fit;
    - it's not restricting at all and I can bike in it with no problems;

    In addition, I really liked that it has an inner zipper that goes down to your hips (but not over them) and up to your chin. This keeps out the wind much better than other trench coats that only have buttons. Also, you can just close the zipper a bit and leave the buttons open, and your coat stays put when it's breezy.

    About the sizing: I'm 5'8" and weigh 165 lbs, I'm athletic, so I'm smaller than a 165 lbs couch potato, bra size 34D, and usually wear medium tops (Loft, Uniqlo, other Columbia clothes) and mostly large pants (size 8 for Loft, 30 L in Gap jeans). I fit into the medium very well with room to spare so I can wear a thick sweater underneath; only the third button of the coat should not be any tighter than it is. I also tried the large, which was too large in the shoulders and belly for me.
