Verified Buyer Reviewed by song from portland on Wednesday, March 22, 2017This dress is suitable, it is warm and light, and the price is very cheap. I bought it for my dad, and he said he was happy to receive it.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Harry from PA on Wednesday, March 15, 2017This jacket material and feel is like plastic and baffles are meled vs sewn.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by James from MD on Saturday, February 25, 2017This is fine and good for the price, surely.
But if you are wearing it when active, no sweat will escape.
I wore it on a light backpacking trip in NY with temps in the 20s and wind chill in theh low teens.
After about four miles, my shirt (a light weight shirt) was soaked with sweat as was in the inside of the jacket.
So it is a perfect bargian jacket for sitting in the cold, like bird watching or sporting events.
Reviewed by Frank from Kansas City on Tuesday, February 21, 2017This jacket is thin, and each baffle, if I'm saying this right, each seam between pockets of down surrounding the jacket, is glued flat, which I believe creates stripes of hardly insulating fabric.
It does function well as a windbreaker, thought the hood, with no draw cord is a bit weak. It does repel light rain. The fit is also appropriate for a person in fairly good shape. A chest pocket would be nice. No issues with the workmanship.
It's just not all that warm.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Hiker Eddie from Oregon on Sunday, January 8, 2017During a recent 25 degree snow storm here in Beaverton, Oregon, the Columbia Flash Forward Hooded Jacket was decent. It kept me 'warm enough' - wearing a flannel and long sleeve t-shirt underneath - but the 650 down would not be adequate below 20 degrees. The hoody lacks a cinch but still handy during the snowstorm. This jacket would be perfect for fall or less severe winter conditions. The 'seamless' baffle design gives it longevity and the water-resistant material is good against light rain or snow. The Flash Forward wouldn't be considered my main jacket but would serve as a nice 2nd or 3rd backup.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Erin from WI on Saturday, December 31, 2016Bought this for my son. He wanted a jacket that wasn't bulky, but warm enough for Wisconsin winters. This one is perfect.
Reviewed by Bruce Short from Massachusetts on Wednesday, December 14, 2016No offense to Columbia but saying this jacket is insulated is a joke. I have tee shirts that are warmer and thicker. Sent it back. I have bought a ton of clothing here and mostly satisfied, but saying this is a winter jacket is very misleading. If your looking for a jacket that wil fit into a backpack on a spring day than maybe consider. But looking for a winter coat..... pass
