I wanted to try a non-down water proof jacket. This fit the bill. So far I've tested in light rain and it works great. Fits fine and looks good.

I was skepical at first when i tried the coat on in front of the mirror. The hood is cozy but has a funny square shape. But once i used the javket outdoors i was a convert. The warmth to weight ratio is off the chart. It compresses into a tiny stuff sack. I am 5'11, 170#, long arms, large chest muscles. About half the brands I try pinch in the armpit. Not this. Size large fits like it was made for my body. Love love love this jacket!

This is really the Rab Xenon-X Hoodie and the tag of the jacket shows "Xenon-X". I gave this as a gift to a friend based on various online reviews such as outdoorgearlab.com (which gave it the highest rating for insulated jackets). My friend said his size is medium and the medium jacket fits him perfectly. He loves the jacket because it is very light and very warm at the same time. He has used it as a middle layer for snowboarding and said that it works well paired with a technical shell. He said that for the rest of the year, he will use the jacket as his outer layer when hiking, backpacking, etc.

I bought this jacket for my Dad for Christmas. He was wanting a medium weight jacket, and this one seems like it will be perfect. STP shipped quickly, and I'm very satisfied with the look of this jacket. I know my Dad will really like it!

Super light, packableand warm! Rab Xenon X's popular jacket, in last season's colors simply relabeled as Generator X. Thanks STP for an incredible deal!

Wore the Generator without hood Spring, Summer and Fall fly fishing Montana and Wyoming. I love that jacket !!! Very light and easily packed in fishing vest with rain jacket.
This is basically the same jacket with a hood. The hood fits great with hat under and keeps the ears and neck warm on those cold windy days on the Madison river. The best fishing is usually in [...] weather and this jacket with a light rain jacket keep me very comfotable down to about 40 degrees.
    Just buy it !

I went through multiple synthetic insulated jackets trying to find the perfect match for my outdoor agenda. This is my first Rab piece and it fits the bill perfectly. Comfortable and accurate sizing coupled with super soft but warm synthetic insulation makes it a keeper. It is really warm considering how insignificant it feels when you ball it up and hole it in your hands. Perfect midlayer that can easily double as an outer layer.

This is a well made jacket. I found two things that cut my rating. I thought it ran it bit small for the rated size, and the main zipper zipped from the "woman's" side rather than the men's, something I could learn to live with but is just one of those things you'd rather not think about (I checked and it was rated a men's jacket). Luckily, I have a friend I could give the jacket to and she greatly appreciates it. I would like all jackets like that to come with an inner zippered pocket, but that seems hit or miss.
