This is my second pair of Royal Robbins brand pants, not both the same model/type. These pants are great hiking/travel pants as they are light weight and very comfortable, while still looking professional. While I don't mind myself, the seams/stitching is sort of diagonal and stylistically done so it doesn't track down either side of your leg like tradition pants. I also think these would be a proper substitute for columbia pro fishing gear style pants. They are on this level of quality

Ordered a 34/32. Was sent a 36/30 by mistake. I carefully measured the extra waist while wearing the 36/30, found over 4 inches to spare, so ordered a 32/32 in exchange. This was too tight to the extent that when I closed it on my waist, with a bit of effort, it was impossible to put my hands in the front pockets.

These pants do not look like sadventure" or outdoor psnts. Cool, light, with the appearsnce of fine linen. Zippered pockets. Comfortable. Wear them anywhere.

These pants are very well thought out and well-constructed. Little things like the mesh lining in pockets and high quality zippers seems to be the hallmark of Royal Robbins. This is my 3rd pair and I don't think I'd change anything.

These pants run a little on the slim side. I usually where a 34 waist and although they fit, the 36 was a more comfortable fit for me.

Nice sturdy but light material, color is lighter than shown in pic; very slight swish sound when walking (better than most nylon pants). I wore them in the rain and they dried on me in less than an hour. They are pretty wrinkled coming out of the dryer, but the wrinkles fall out if hung up. Overall worth the money, but a few issues: 1) Totally straight legs--from top to bottom, legs totally straight, so way too wide at the bottom; not a slim fit as others seem to think; baggy from seat to feet (I'm 6'1", 170) 2) Pockets are odd. All are nicely deep; velcro on left rear pocket adds security but I find it impossible to open one handed (disabled Vet and only have full use of one arm); change falls out of front pockets when I sit down (there is a separate change pocket with velcro that I should probably use more); the thigh pocket opening is nicely hidden on the right outer thigh seam, but the pocket itself angles to the rear and extends from mid thigh to just above the knee--maybe others like that but to me it puts my cell under my thigh when I sit. On the other hand, you don't whack that area when you hike, so maybe its intentional. I'd give 3 1/2 if I could, but am going with 3 since the fit is for those who aren't exactly slim. :-)
