I tried them on and they are super comfortable and seem high quality. I wanted lightweight, but sturdy hiking boots for a day hike up and down Mt. Washinton. I have other hiking boots, which are sturdy, but I don't feel nimble in them. Even better, these claim to be waterproof too. Will try them out next weekend and hope they live up to expectations.

My feet really like Merrell products, and I already had a pair of leather Merrell hiking boots that were comfy from the moment I put them on - no break-in period, no hot spot, blisters or pressure points. I wanted something lighter & brighter for summer, so took a flyer on these. Very happy with them, my feet like these too! One other reviewer complained about not enough padding - I may decide to add an insole to help cushion bottom of feet, but so far it hasn't been a problem for 4-6 mile hikes. Easy enough to add.

I've always been pleased with shoes from Merrell and felt good about ordering these after reading the reviews. I normally wear size 9M dress shoe, 9 1/2 sneaker, so I ordered a 9 1/2 and the fit is perfect with a little wiggle room for toes or heavy socks. There are many great hiking boots out there but nearly everyone said spend the extra money for Gore-Tex and that's what tipped the scale for me.

I have two old pairs of Merrell hiking boots that I opted to retire this year. I bought the waterproof and gortex capra boots. They are ultra comfy (as with most Merrell's) and I love the colors. However, the biggest noticeable change is the weight. These are super light weight and will be great for hiking. I need all the help I can get as I'm getting older and backpacks seem to weigh more! I have only worn them on 4-5 mile hikes but will be putting some mileage on them next month. So far, I'm really happy!

As far as sizing, I always order hiking boots a half size bigger than tennis shoes. They fit the same as my old Merrell's and half size up accomodates for a thicker hiking sock.

These are extremely comfortable, walked 4 miles the first day with no problems. Good room in the toes and good ankle support. Haven't worn in the water/mud yet so can't speak to their waterproofness. Love the fun color!

The support collar is thin, the boot is stiffer than expected. The insoles are very thin and no cushion. The insoles did have holes to prevent sweating. The boots will work great for the summer. I purchased a new pair of thicker insoles which solved the 1/2 size difference and the cushion I was looking for. For the price and brand I expected more comfort.

These boots fit true to size. Love them. I put them on in the morning and take them off at night. I have used them when walking my dogs, shopping and other day time activities. I bought Keen's prior and believe I bought them to big as I developed blisters and lost toe nails when walking 30 miles. I am trying these boots out in preparing for another 30 mile hike on the the AT and hoping for smaller blisters and no lost toe nails. They are light, keep my feet dry and feel good on my feet. Am very satisfied with these boots

My husband loves his Merrell mid-high boots so I grabbed these as soon as I saw them. They are very comfortable straight from the box and on to a 5 mile walk. I can't wait to try them on a Central California Coastal hike this weekend. I have issues with ankle bone pressure with many boots that is obvious almost immediately. These have very soft, stretchy, supportive ankle bone contact points, plenty of room in the toe box and lots of tightening and loosening options in the laces. I usually go up half a size for running shoes but these were just right in my usual size 8.

I've only take these one one hike but they did great. The trail was super muddy and my feet stayed dry. I also felt like the treads gripped well on the muddy trail and the ankle height kept me much more stable than my old low top sneakers I used to wear.
