Badlands Shed Jacket - Waterproof, 3-in-1 (For Men)

Closeouts. For year-round hunters looking for a jacket to perform in everything from hot rain showers to frigid snow storms, the Badlands Shed jacket does it all and then some. The waterproof breathable exterior shell sheds water like a pro and is fully seam sealed to prevent leaks. The fleece liner jacket is a super-warm layer that can also be used on its own on mild, dry days or around camp. Both layers feature scent-masking technology, spacious zip pockets and a professional design that won't inhibit your range of motion.

Order the last medium at 86% off what a steel. Even though I am from Canada and was hit with taxes and duty the total cost still came out to a 76% savings. I read reviews about the jacket not fitting to size but this medium is a true medium, I have other jackets that are similar in fit.
I was able to test the jacket a couple days after I received it in a heavy downpour and I was completely dry. I understand Badlands has moved to a new design and this is being discontinued but hopefully in the future they can add the additional pit zips. One more con, get ride of the wrist ties, I would much rather have a zelcro strap to tighten the wrist down, have got them caught on a few branches whilst taking a hike. Over all exceptional material, warm when paired with the zipin sweater and light enough to pack away in a day pack. Very happy with this product and the service at Sierra Trading Post. I will definably be ordering from here in the future to the great white North.

Very well made dual layer system. The attention to detail and quality is very good. The outer jacket is stiff, and a bit noisy, so up close hunting is out. I usually wear an XL (like things big to allow for layering). Ordered this in an XXL and glad I did. Will be able to have a couple of layers underneath and stay very warm, even in late season, or winter hunting.

The big down side to the Shed jacket system are the cuff adjustments on the sleeves. Elastic cords run out and back in, but you have to pull more out to tighten, leaving a loop to catch on just about anything. What a bother. Might have given 5 stars if this were better thought out.

I liked the concept of having an all-in-one jacket. I needed a waterproof shell to wear by itself during Georgia's rainy days in early bow season, with the option of adding an insulator for wintery precipitation. In that sense this jacket is exactly what I was looking for. I also liked the athletic fit of the jacket, even though I ordered a size up to be on the safe side. I am a slender guy, about 6'1" and 195 pounds with an athletic build, so I knew if I ordered a large, based on my normal size - the jacket would fit in the chest but would be tight in the shoulders... so I ordered a size up and the fit was good and could be worn with under layers. The fleece lining felt cozy and comfortable, but not too heavy. The jacket does feel well made, and I really wanted to love this jacket. I was hoping it could be the one jacket that I could wear all season long in any kind of weather. But alas the outer shell is far too noisy for my liking. I am a year round bowhunter, and as you bowhunters are aware, any game taken with archery equipment is usually within 20-30 yards, making noise a major factor. I simply can't depend on drawing on an animal with the sound of a scratchy tarp spooking before I even get to full draw. For this reason, I give the Shed jacket a 3 star rating. I hope Badlands can come out with a 3-in-1 product that is truly "Waterproof" in soft shell, quiet material. If they could and it was every bit as tough and high quality as this one, I'd buy it. I guess it goes without saying that I returned this jacket once I realized how noisy it was.
