Customer Reviews Of:
Merrell Hydro Hiker Sport Sandals - Leather, Amphibious (For Big Kids)
Closeouts. Built for the water, the trail and anywhere else busy feet dare to wander, Merrell's Hydro Hiker sport sandals are ready to go where the action is. The protective, open design allows moisture and debris to escape quickly, and the outsole is lugged, grippy and extended over the toe to fend off rocks.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by axistr from Watertown, NY on Tuesday, June 27, 2017This is the second pair I bought this month. My daughter wears a size 5. She currently has a size 5 in Merrell hiking boots, Asics, Quantum's and Converse Chuck Taylors, which all fit well. The size 5, I order in these was more like a size 8. I went and ordered a size 4 in these and they are still nearly an inch to long. I kept both because my daughter will grow into them and they do seem to be of good quality. Love Merrell products but these are clearly mismarked.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by axistr from New York on Friday, June 16, 2017My daughter wears a size 5. She currently has two pairs of Merrell's that are size 5 and fit well. We ordered these and they literally appear two sizes to big (over an inch of excess). Ordered a size 4 and will keep the other pair (she'll grow into them). Will receive the 4's today (hopefully they'll fit)
Reviewed by so disappointed! from California on Friday, June 9, 2017I have been buying shoes online for decades and have never come across such a gross error in sizing. Also, what do they mean by "big kids"? I thought they meant adults. I wish they could be clear rather than getting so carried away with being "hip" that the customer can't tell who they are made for. I assumed they meant 'adults' and not actual kids, so I bought a size 7, which I've been buying off the internet for decades with no problem at all. But they're closer to a womens' 9 or 10. I could put my entire fist in with my foot! They charge for exchanges - oh yes. And how am I going to find the right size? Guesswork? B y the time I've figured out the right size via back and forth mailing, I will have spent the equivalent of the price of the shoe just in shipping fees. I'm so discouraged because I fell in love with these shoes! So I traced my foot and am sending them back and asking for a shoe that will fit that foot tracing. I'll let you know how that goes.
Reviewed by MoMom from Missouri on Wednesday, June 7, 2017These shoes are big!!!
The size four will allow an arch support easily.
The size 7 are equivalent to a women's size
9 1/2 - and sierra doesn't do free returns :(
Not an easy fix.
They are bright but no arch support.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Mom and co. from USA on Saturday, June 3, 2017The heel is huge, but the footbed narrow with no support. It is exceedingly long, and whoever sized this shoe did not have a human foot. Merrill is usually a good brand, but this shoe is a mess.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Active life from NY on Friday, May 26, 2017I bought these for my son. He liked the color and comfy but they were too big. I put them on. They fited me so I borrowed him for now.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Rachel from Michigan on Thursday, May 4, 2017I love Merrell shoes in general, and these didn't fail to meet my expectations. These shoes have closed toes to keep busy kids safe on their adventures, and adjustable velcro ankle straps--easier for most kids than the elastic bungees on many amphibious shoes. The material looks like it will dry quickly after a visit to the beach or splash pad, or after one of those necessary washings following the inevitable muddy stomps. As a bonus, I love the bright, kid-appropriate colors.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by DNW from Medusa, NY on Monday, April 24, 2017These are well made sport sandals, the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is, I ordered size 5 which my son wears and they were way too big. I then sent them back for a size 4 which also turned out to be larger then any other size 4 shoe i ever purchased for him. So he'll be able to wear them this year and probably part of next summer. Other then that, they're great.
