This jacket is my new favorite, go-to layer for those foggy days here on the California coast. The high quality, tech-oriented design, and attention to detail are typical of Mountain Hardware gear. The nylon outer is soft and silky smooth. I bought this as a layer to wear under foul weather gear and for alpine climbing but its just fun to wear around town.

I'M 5'6", 140 AND HAVE TRIED JACKETS LIKE THIS BEFORE. COULD NEVER FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PERSON WOULD LOOK LIKE THAT SOME OF THEM ARE CUT FOR. BUT MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR YOU ROCK!! FITS PERFECT. NICE WEIGHT FOR THE DAYS THAT AREN'T COLD ENOUGH FOR A HEAVY JACKET. HAVEN'T TRIED IT YET BUT COULD PROBABLY THROW A SHELL OVER IT AND BE GOOD FOR ANOTHER 20 DEGREES LOWER. SO LIGHT THERE'S ALMOST NO WEIGHT. HAPPY CAMPER!

Mountain Hardware has an athletic fit. Not baggy in the body. Arms are long enough.

Great jacket for those days just above a down jacket, but it fits a bit tighter in the chest than their down jackets. I almost decided to return it, but since I won't have anything but a shirt or skin layer on I kept it. Would have given it 5 stars if it fit like the down jackets.

I first wore one of these jackets when I rented it from the NOLS gear inventory for one of their 2015 horsepacking trips in Wyoming. Warm, comfortable, (relatively) light, and the fit was right. Nice jacket, but what I really wanted was an ultralight down jacket. I tried the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer, and the Patagonia Ultralight down jacket, but the sleeves were too long, and the body too narrow and long on both brands. So glad I found this one on STP, and couldn't be happier with this synthetic puffy jacket. I do a lot of backpacking, and while I swear by my down sleeping bag, I think synthetic is a better choice for a jacket because I'm more likely to need it when I'm not sheltered from the elements.

My husband is 6'2" with 36" sleeves and a 44 chest. Ordered an XL and the jacket fits him perfectly.

I am 6' 3" and weigh 200 lbs. I ordered the large and the jacket was too big. I already own two other Mountian Hardware jackets, a compressor, and a 600 fill down puff coat. These two jackets are both size large and fit me well. The Thermostatic jacket seems to be cut different than the other two. Wide in the sholders and waist. The construction seemed solid but I had to return it due to the poor fit.

Great mid/outer layer. Light weight, packs down small, and keeps you warm

I was looking to get a jacket like this. I'm happy that I checked Sierra Trading Post because I saved a ton of money and I got the jacket I wanted. It is a very light and warm jacket, perfect for Los Angeles Autumn or Winter , I'll recommend it.

I have not worn this backpacking yet. The fit is very comfortable and great for layering. I have a Marmot dry climate that fit over it well. The jacket is warm for how lightweight it is. I would recommend buying it
