Great jacket. Second Marmot wind stopped and not disappointed.

The Jacket I attempted to purchase was not the jacket I was sent. It looks like a similar construction, but the colors on the jacket were monotone. The pic on the website showed 2 shades of green on the jacket. Im not sure how to rate the jacket. It seems nice, but not what I ordered. I guess I am more disappointed with Sierra trading posts error than the jacket they sent me.

I hike in a lot of inclement weather in Michigan and the Gravity excels in keeping me warm and dry while active. It is extremely comfortable, especially after you break down its initial scuba-suit stiffness through a few wearings and washings. I'm 5-6, 160 with a 40" chest, and the Gravity (medium) fits me better than most Marmot jackets - torso and sleeve length aren't overly long. My first Gravity jacket (large) is three years old and still looks brand new - not a single blemish or fraying anywhere! I still wear it when I need to add thicker mid-layer.. Some observations on the Gravity: it's a shell so in temperatures below freezing, it doesn't keep you warm unless you're moving or out of the wind - it's windproof but the shell can still transfer the cold through the fleece/felt lining; it repels snow and rain extremely well; shell is durable enough to withstand snagging from regular twigs and brush; it's relatively light; and it is very stylish and flattering. If you have a bit of a beer gut, I wouldn't consider.

I bought this jacket for my son who lives in Chicago. He loves it for those days when the weather is cold but not bitter--moderate weather.
The jacket fits the way he likes it--close to the body without being tight. Wears and washes well. He would highly recommend this coat. It's the 3rd one he's had.

This is a very comfortable soft shell jacket with a fleece lining to add some additional warmth. It does a good job blocking out the wind and shedding a light rain. Fit was true to size in XXL.

I got this for a week of spring skiing in Taos. Very versatile. I wore it with different layers and it was great for conditions that ranged from sunny to snowing. Marmot is becoming my go to brand.

The jacket is a great casual jacket that can be taken camping/backpacking. The sleeves are just a bit long (and my arm span is normal for my height)...nothing I can't work through. I had one before and this seems a little bigger than the previous one, but once again, minimal annoyances. Overall great material and construction.

It's still too warm to wear this, so I can only comment on fit. It's larger than my other Marmot items - I'm smack in between a medium and large - but for a winter jacket that will probably see bulkier items paired with it, e.g., sweaters, fleece jackets, etc, the larger fit seems very appropriate. Worn over just a t-shirt the jacket still retains a nice fit and look - it doesn't droop or look sloppy, and still fits comfortably.

Solid performance shell. Comfortable, but a little heavy and stiff at first. A bit bulky for stowing in a pack. Plenty of room for layers. Good fit, especially if you have long arms. Warmer than expected. Good for cold weather, but too heavy for light shell situations. Overall a great deal for the price.
