SmartWool PhD Printed Mid-Rise Tights - Merino Wool Blend (For Women)
Closeouts. No need to be confined to the treadmill on chilly days. Get out and enjoy the fresh air in the SmartWool PhD printed mid-rise tights! A soft, merino wool knit interior holds in warmth while nylon and spandex provide plenty of stretch and protection from the elements.
Reviewed by Holly from Colorado Springs, CO on Sunday, October 30, 2016I love Smartwool tights and capris and own several of them in both styles. The product is always great quality and just what I need for chilly Colorado winter runs (and even as a base layer under ski pants). These tights are of the same great quality you would expect of Smartwool, and I love the design, but as a previous reviewer stated, the waistband has a very stiff threading inside which is very irritating and feels extremely rough against the skin. It is significantly annoying on both the tights and the capris in this particular pattern. I have never been disappointed with either the tights or the capris before, but I'm afraid this is my first thumbs down for Smartwool.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by Laura from Boston on Wednesday, October 12, 2016I think these are as warm and cozy at the Smartwool Tech Tights, but for me the fit was better (I had to size up on those because of the tight waist, but these fit me at my normal size). These are excellent tights for winter runs; the inside is a soft merino fleece. I found them too warm on a 45-degree run, so I'm looking forward to being able to use them as the weather gets colder. My only gripe is that there's some weird stiff threads that stick out of the inner waistband, which scratch when I put the pants on (although they don't poke in when I'm running - they seem to lie flat when the pants are actually on, thankfully.)
Reviewed by MadderRoot from NY on Wednesday, September 28, 2016I'm 5'5", 160 lbs, and the large fits great. I would have considered exchanging for a medium for greater compression, but that size was not available and I didn't risk too tight of a waistband anyway. I've been wearing these anywhere between warm to brisk fall days and they have been perfectly warm/dry/comfortable. Even though they initially felt a little itchy when I first tried them on, by mid run I didn't notice a thing. They're so comfortable that I didn't want to take them off when I got home, and thanks to their moisture-wicking properties they remained pretty dry. There is a circular inner drawstring which I kind of don't get, but it works relatively well and the pants stay up regardless.
