Warm enough for negative temperatures when skied at Vail last weekend!

In all honesty, I don't mind that they are baggier than my other skipants, they are warm, very weather resistant, and the color really pops. The large is a little big for my 31" waist even with layers, fyi.

I was looking for a pair of warm ski pants that wouldn't break the bank. In the local ski store, I tried on many pairs, and decided on TNF. Before I paid $200 at my store, I looked again on STP and found these. They had my size, but not my length - I had tried on Medium Short and they fit perfectly - but I thought I'd roll the dice on Medium Regular. I was slightly concerned about how orange they'd be in person, but then decided that I really didn't care, my wife and kids would be able to easily find me.

They arrived and I tried them on. We had a small bit of now in Upstate NY (2"), so I went out in them for the first test. Very warm, I stayed nice and dry (out squatting/sitting/kneeling in wet snow for an hour). But they were too long. I'm average height & weight - 5'8", 150 lbs, and these extended to about 1/2" past the bottom of my winter boots. With my ski boots on, I was still stepping on the bottom back.

I'm lucky to have a wife skilled in hemming, and she said she would try to shorted them for me. Apparently it was pretty easy to remove the reinforced edge and hem them, because she had them done quickly. Now they're the perfect length.

I wore them skiing over Thanksgiving break, and they performed perfectly. My legs stayed warm and dry from top to bottom. When we went in for lunch, I opened up the leg vents and cooled right off.

If STP had the Short length, I'd have given these 5 stars. As it is, it's frustrating as an average sized person to not have "regular" length fit me.

In short, I'd highly recommend these pants to someone about 3-4" taller, say 5'10" to 6' in the regular length. If you have someone who is skilled at shortening/hemming pants, snatch these up for the savings. They have been good cold weather ski/snow pants so far for me.
