Exped SynCellMat 5M Sleeping Pad - Inflatable, Medium
Closeouts. Sleeping on rough terrain may be part of your expedition, but you don't have to let it ruin your night. Exped's SynCellMat 5 M sleeping pad features a unique matrix air cell design that contours to your body and smooths out the ground so you can rest easy all night.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Happy Camper from Colorado on Thursday, February 25, 2016I've had a few air mattresses ($80-$120 each) and still do. This is the most unique of them all. The other mattresses are comfortable but are kind of like sleeping on a pool floaty (if they only had a beverage holder). When I first rolled the Exped SynCellMat out I though it wasn't going to be comfortable. It just didn't seem as substantial as the other mats. Oh was I wrong. The whole...molds to your body and smooths out the ground thing…well its NOT a marketing gimmick. I guess its the difference between laying on top of a mattress and being cradled by the mattress. The SynCell is a cradler.
I'm a stalky guy (5'7" and 190lbs) and a side sleeper. No problem for the SynCell 5.
When backpacking it comes in a very small bag and weights very little. If you say ultralight every other word then this mat may not be for you. But for me this thing weights very little. I like to be comfortable while sleeping and this mat does that for me at a very low weight cost.
What an awesome mat! I love it. What more can I say?
