Verified Buyer Reviewed by Old Woodsy Guy from N. Cali on Tuesday, March 29, 2016Ordered these after wearing out a pair from first production run with real moccasin toe, but 2nd iteration seems to have fitting problems. Normally wear 11.5 EE in all Redwing products, but right boot was too tight at instep for foot to go into boot!
So ordered 12 EE, no normal widths left, and the toe box and widths were ginormous, clown shoes really...what is it in Chinese shoe factories they don't get about large American feet?
Still love Sierra Trading, would cost way more than the shipping charges on returns for us to drive 2 hrs. to a population center to try on shoes!!!
Keep up the good work!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by redeyehawk from New Hampshire on Friday, March 25, 2016Have tried several boots lately . . . these fit, used to wear an 111/2 2e, have had to go to a 12w(2e) in the last few years. These boots have a wide toe box and give plenty of wiggle room for the toes. Took out the insole(seems most of these come very thick under the heel, slimmer up front. I replace them with Dr. Scholls 2x insoles, change as needed and find the foot settles down into a more comfortable position. Also, frequently the gussets on either side of the tongue fold to form a painful lump at the bend of the ankle. I snip the offending material out and stitch it up(as I did with these and a pair of Red Wings(bought locally). Both boots are a dream to wear now. These boots are for temps above 40 degrees, leather above the toes is flexible, the stitched on toe "guard" helps maintain the toe box rigidity. Been wearing them two weeks off and on and they are keepers, at less than half what the Red Wings cost.
