Ruffwear Slackline Dog Leash
Closeouts. Ruffwear's Slackline dog leash gives you the option of securing it around the waist for hands-free jogs or holding it in your hand like a traditional dog leash. It can also be shortened from 6 feet to 3.5 feet for more control of your unruly sidekick.

I think this is great because her last leash had elastic, but was losing its spring after about a year of use, and kept wrapping around the axel if she slacked slightly.

Reviewed by Brad and Otis from Colorado on Saturday, August 20, 2016Ruffwear is a great brand, and this is a product I like, but they didn't get it quite right.
In this case, they seemed to over-think/over-design the clip to attach it to your waist. It is not at all easy to consistently unhook. I found that by moving the metal hook end to 90 degrees from the loop it goes through, that makes it easier to undo most of the time. No, you don't want to risk it coming undone by accident and letting your dog loose - but if you need to get out of it in a hurry, good luck. A standard snap or buckle arrangement might have been a simpler, cheaper approach with better performance.
That, combined with a pretty outrageous MSRP which translates into a still-steep STP price, and it leaves me less than fully satisfied.
