I cannot see how these would stand up well for rigorous work, but for simple protection against cold, they are great. We bought these with the intention of just using them for winter gloves. My husband has a number of Carhartt gloves and is specific about what he uses for outdoor work. These did not look as rugged or sturdy as his normal work gloves, and in person, they're not. Like I said, they are still a GREAT deal on very warm and comfortable winter gloves, and we are 100% satisfied to use them as that. They were half the price of similar winter gloves he has from Outdoor Research.

For work gloves, we'd recommend Carhartt C-Grip Impact Cut Gloves and the C-Grip Knuckler gloves.

My husband's hand is 10" around, which Carhartt says should be size XL, however the XL are tight on him so he goes for 2XL. Those seem okay, certainly not roomy but they work. This has been pretty consistently the case with all Carhartt gloves he has (about 6 different styles, maybe more).
