I almost didn't buy these boots, because the sizing information indicated the 43.5 would be a size too small to fit my size 10 wide foot. But I took a chance, and the boots fit my feet perfectly even with a thick wool sock on. These are definitely mountaineering boots (too stiff for hiking) perfect for crampons and the build quality is exceptional!!!

been looking for some time for step in crampon compatible boots. tried one pair of asolo's that seemed to be too low volume in area around my big toe. (they were size 12's). length was OK, problem was above my toe. on a brannock foot sizer i am an 11 heel to toe, but i am a 12 heel to ball. i am on the border between narrow and D width. the zamberlan pamir's come in two size 12's - a 47 and a 46.5. this stumped me. at 250 dollars a pair i was uncomfortable ordering two pair. but then someone bought the last 46.5 so i ordered the 47. and it fits perfectly!
with a liner sock and a thick sock my foot feels really good except for a slight pinch in the heel going up stairs on my toes. with just a liner and no thick sock my heel slips. so i think the fit is perfect.
the boot exudes quality but of course i just got them and they have not been out of the house. they are a stiff mountaineering boot - they are for winter sierra stuff, i would never wear them backpacking. the cleat for holding the shoelaces is cool, but if it breaks no idea how it would be fixed - probably replace with a regular cleat.
anyway - i like these, i will probably keep them, but they may not work with wide feet. they are probably overkill but so is my 380 HP truck and they are a lot less $$ than a new truck. :-)
