Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoes (For Men)

Closeouts. Responsive and durable, the Mizuno Wave Kazan trail running shoes take off-road kicks to new heights. They provide the stability you need thanks to a U4ic midsole that absorbs shock and maintains light weight, as well as a mid-foot X-groove that lets the heel and forefoot independently adapt to varying terrain. The Wave Kazan also boasts Mizuno's SmoothRide Engineering that rocks the foot from heel to toe, propelling you through your run.

I don't trail run many miles due to bad knees; I can only do a few miles a week without risking injury. But, when I do run my short little runs, these shoes offer excellent protection from the nasty, pointy rocks on my local trail without causing me to feel out of touch with the ground.

I mostly use these for hiking/backpacking. I grew so tired of heavy boots weighing my feet down and removing all feel of the ground. When hiking on an established trail, I see no reason to wear boots. I only use boots when working in the field (geologist) off trail, on loose slopes, with lots of cacti around or in the very cold snow.

The Wave Kazan is very comfortable for my foot. The size was consistent with the nikes I wear when not on the trail. I have found the traction good on muddy trails and when scrambling on talus slopes above timberline. I would certainly recommend these from my experience so far, based on how I use them. However, if you're a serious trail runner, I can't say either way.

Wide toe box and med-large midfoot volume. Works for me, but take that into consideration if you decide to buy. I have a fast seven mile run in these on a wood chip trail and the grip was good. Firm, fast ride.

I've only worn these a few times so far. They seem really well made, like they'll hold up for a while. Theyre similar to my wave inspire. With the exception, they seem a little bigger. I ordered another pair a half size smaller, haven't received those yet.

This shoe is really very comfortable and cushioned. Downhill this shoe does great but when trying to go uphill the fore foot is not as cushioned as I would like. When on level surfaces I am generally a more fore footed runner, so I like the shoes with even to more cushion towards the front of the shoe. So my strike is not exactly where I would like to have it and this shoe makes me switch my stride some for a better ride. However if you are a more heel-to-toe runner this is a great shoe, built well, good balance, and not too heavy. Pro: good quality, light weight, and comfortable, Con: needs more fore footed cushion for my liking.

The size is fit and shoes are not too heavy.
Not slippy and not bad for trail running
