I own several Icebreaker merino base layers, jackets, caps and even shorts. In general, all are worth their weight in gold. Everything including this hooded jacket is in the 4-5 star range in terms of fit, finish and quality.
I'm 165lbs and 5'7" and the the M (medium) fit is generally very good, although slightly on the large side compared to other Icebreaker jackets I own. A somewhat alpine fit, but feels like the mid section could be more tapered still. The good part is I have a room for a thicker base underneath. Arm length is slightly long. Overall length, slightly long, but I'm 5'7" and a little long is expected. Shoulders and chest, fitting spot-on. Zippers are excellent quality, and although I'm totally used to the European left-side zip style for the full-length zipper, American males may find it a bit awkward—at least initially.
Material is nice and thick, but not heavy. Warmer and thicker than Icebreaker's prolific "200" series layers, I'm guessing this is somewhere between their "200" and "360" series— it's not written in the specs.
The part for which I'm knocking off a star is this: The hood. It's not form fitting, it has no draw string, and it's a bit floppy. Not a deal killer, but slightly annoying, and not a typical Icebreaker hood.
