Merrell Roust Fury Cycling Shoes (For Men)

Closeouts. Don't be fooled by the hip, scaled-down appearance of the Merrell Roust Fury cycling shoes. You read that correctly -- a cycling shoe that fits in on the pedals and at the record store. The CycleTread outsole provides the key to it all with a grippy feel and a rigid, power-transferring plate that keeps you and your bike on the right path.

Most cycling shoes are stiff, tight and designed to work with pedal clips, which are not the safest for clumsy older riders. These are very lightweight and flexible, despite a bit of rigidity for more pedaling efficiency. They are soft, comfortable and somewhat stretchy. They work very well with toe cages, which I have been using for 45 years. Unlike many sneakers the sole does not flare out from the side of the shoe, meaning for toe cages you get a nice snug feel.

My husband said that they are comfortable, and they look very nice on. He likes them better than tennis shoes for riding his mountain bike, but the sole is very soft and his pedals have knobs, which tore up the bottom of the shoe. Nevertheless, the shoes seem to be holding up fine.
