Love the fit now just need to break them in. Comfortable right out of the box! Seems to me they fit true to size.

Lowa is a solid brand. The only negative I have heard about the rangers is that the rubber rand can tend to come unstuck from the leather over time. I believe Lowa regard this as cosmetic, and it probably is but it would look funny. Maybe the new Ranger III has solved that issue, if in fact it is an issue. I've only worn mine for a few hours so far and they were comfortable right from the start, no issues at all. Sizing was good, I have ecco and various other shoes that all fit around that size 48. A friend of mine has just gone to Ranger II after some issues with another brand, he uses them heaps for work and went with Rangers as a work colleague has had a great run with his.

These Lowas are comfortable right out of the box. I've only worn them around the house and yard so far, and they feel great. The quality and design are top of class. I can't wait to get them in the mountains.

These caught my eye while I was contemplating Lowa Tibets. The Tibets were just too much boot for my needs (upland hunting). I need wide shoes (mild bunions) and that was another plus. The added bonus was the significant everyday STP discounted price supplemented by a special offer.

I found going up a half size to be just right for me from my dress shoe size. Although they are Nubuck it is very low nap and when I dressed them with Sno Seal they look like dress shoes now, so I am pleased with that. I've added some Sole supports to replace the ones that came with the boot (I do this with all my boots, I prefer these to Superfeet). One observation is that the size 11 Sole inserts are exactly the same size as the size 11.5 Lowa inserts so I would say the boots run a tad short. I think if you want to run very thick socks going up one full size would be right. I think they're going to be a winner for me.

Typical Lowa Quality which is great. Toe box seems a little smaller than normal but I will stretch them out.

I love Lowa's. I have had a few pairs and loved them all. This is the first "hunting boot" from Lowa I've purchased. The reviews are correct...comfortable right out of the box. I can see myself switching to all Lowa hunting boots from here on out.

These boots appear to be top-quality, as I've come to expect from Lowa. The price was right and they arrived within a few business days from Sierra Trading Post.

I typically wear an 11D (medium width) in most boots, and these were no surprise. They fit great and seem to require little break-in time.

I'm awarding 4 stars because I usually reserve the top rating for more of a long-term assessment.

One of the best boots for carrying less than 50lbs. Very solid. Great construction. Comfortable out of the box but you'll want to break them in a little before a big hike.

After two rugged hikes, these boots are already favorites. They lace up nice and tight, and are very comfortable. Makes my feet impervious to rock and shale.

For a mid height boot I don't know if a person could do better, especially for the price. My second pair. Hunt the rugged Snake River country on the Oregon-Idaho border. Feet are not hot after 10-12 hrs per day of hiking the toughest country. Granted we typically have a 20 lb day pack not a full 60 lb framed pack. However we do pack 80 lbs of meat out of the steep canyons, and these boots offer great support. Very happy with this product for it's given purpose.
