Big Agnes 20°F Whalen Sleeping Bag - Mummy

Closeouts. Big Agnes' Whalen sleeping bag offers a cozy, warm and comfortable place to rest after a long day in the wilderness. Low-bulk synthetic insulation warms when the temps dip below freezing, and the no-draft collar and zipper prevent body warmth from seeping out. Extra fabric around the opening keeps sunlight from waking you up before you're ready to stir.

I bought this bag (in an xlong) last year and love it, so when my husbands bag needed replaced I came right back. The L is a little shorter so he and I have actually traded bags. I am 5'5 and this one is plenty long to be comfortable. Have used this bag in the fall in the Shenandoah's temps down to the low 30's and was toasty. Also used in spring in Acadia ME in the 40's warm enough to have to sleep with foot unzipped and arms out. Love that we can unzip the foot and let the air move. Next trip to South Carolina for 2017 Solar eclipse. We may wind up sleeping on top f the bag if it is still really warm in the mountains. Product was delivered as anticipated and the price was great. Sierra you are my "come to first" when I search for great prices on quality gear!

I'm not quite sure where the "low-bulk" description comes from. It's a typical synthetic 20 degree bag - bulky and difficult to stuff. It seems thin for a 20 degree bag but it kept my daughter (who sleeps cold) warm just around the freezing mark. I don't think she'd be comfortable at 20, though. It's a value bag and I'd say it's worth what I paid for it.

Decent bag for a decent price. Only reason why I go away from down is if it's in a very wet camping trip. This bag doesn't compress nearly as well as good ole' down, of course, but it'll do the trick I think for car camping or float trips. Not a backpacking bag given its size.
